TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–USHIO INC, (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and Chief Executive Officer: Shiro Sugata) (TOKYO:6925), today announced that the company has started marketing the world’s thinnest UV irradiance meter “UIT-θ365 (UIT-Theta365)” (just 4.9 mm in thickness) in the global market at SEMICON West 2012. The company also will demonstrate its dedicated Android application “BladeNaviTM(used for measurement, monitoring, and analysis of UV irradiance), to be available in October 2012. This pair of new products will be exhibited and demonstrated at SEMICON West 2012, to be held on July 10–12 at Moscone Center in San Francisco, California (Booth #2544).

UIT-θ365: Easy-to-Operate World’s Thinnest Irradiance Meter, with Dedicated Android Application “BladeNaviTM

The UIT-θ365 is the world’s thinnest UV irradiance meter exclusively designed to measure UV irradiance for major UV process applications, including the manufacture of flexible electronic products such as optical films as well as adhesion of precision optical parts. This revolutionary, thin unibody design incorporates a meter, sensor, and secondary battery to allow measurement of UV irradiance in hard-to-reach locations or in-situ setups.

The UIT-θ365 operates in either online or offline mode to allow accurate measurement of UV irradiance. In offline (data logging) mode, it can be placed on a film running on a production line to log measured data, then removed from the line for processing measured data. In online mode, it allows real-time measurement of irradiance of a spot UV light, being connected with a PC or an Android mobile device “BladeNaviTMvia a USB cable. With its dedicated Android application “BladeNaviTM“, to be available this October, the UIT-θ365 can be operated with one hand to enable more flexible measurement for a wide variety of potential applications.

Product Features

  • World’s thinnest (4.9-mm) unibody design as compact as a USB flash drive
  • Online and offline (data logging) measurement modes, selectable for each unit
  • Highly accurate and repetitive measurement even for scattered continuous light
  • On-board rechargeable battery that allows reuse of UIT-θ365 virtually forever
  • Easy operation with its dedicated PC application or Android application “BladeNaviTM
  • Pass/Fail judgment function to enable yield enhancement in the production process
