MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Code 42 Software Inc., developers of award-winning onsite, offsite and online backup solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, announces the immediate availability of companion mobile apps for their CrashPlan backup services. The free apps provide users easy, secure access to all their files backed up online, on any Apple iOS or Android device.

The apps make it easy for users to browse, download, view and share files from their CrashPlan online backups. Common file types, like pictures, word processing files, slide presentations and spreadsheets can be viewed directly within the apps, or shared with other compatible apps. Downloaded files are stored on the mobile device for fast access. Once downloaded, files can be synchronized with the latest online version with a single tap.

The mobile CrashPlan app is currently available for free download via the Apple iTunes App Store and Android Marketplace. The app requires a current subscription to either CrashPlan+. Version 1.0 of CrashPlan app supports the standard security level of CrashPlan+, with support for accounts using elevated security settings (‘private password’ or ‘private key’) planned for the next release.
