FUKUSHIMA, Japan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–GClue, Inc. (GClue) has produced a major new version of BLOCCO, the system that links applications on the Android platform, jointly developed with NTT Docomo. It has been released on the Android Market as BLOCCO 2.0. This new version makes BLOCCO even easier to use and includes the ability for users to share the mini-apps they have created with other BLOCCO users.

BLOCCO
BLOCCO is an application platform that further increases the user-friendliness of smart phones by allowing users themselves to customize combinations of applications that support the Android OS, linking them so that they appear to be one application.

Features of the New Version
There is now a Shortcut Feature, which enables you to simply place shortcuts on the Android home screen to the mini-apps that combine different applications, and a new Gallery Feature, which enables you to share mini-apps among users.

The Shortcut Feature
The Shortcut Feature places a shortcut on the home screen for parameter linking operations from application to application, instead of a specific operation for just one application, which can then be executed with just one touch. For example, when you want to search on a map not just for a nearby café but for a route to a place you registered in your scheduler, you can execute that with just one action.

GClue redesigned and relaunched BLOCCO 2.0, making BLOCCO even easier to use with mini-apps sharing capabilities.

The Gallery Feature
The Gallery Feature enables you to download and use mini-apps that other users have created for sharing. Downloaded mini-apps can be easily used. For example, when you download a mini-app called Search for a Route Home, the user needs only to set the location of his or her home, and then the mini-app can be used. Users can also upload mini-apps that they create to the Gallery, using it as a place to exchange mini-apps. As a result, users will start sharing among themselves a rich variety of application combinations.

Other Added Features
There have also been a string of releases of linked applications for BLOCCO that are available as plug-ins, including Secret Home, a home application whose concept is to protect your privacy, Gourmet Search, for searching for restaurants, and BLOCCO Speech2text, for speech recognition. Download these applications from the Android Market to further expand the functionality of BLOCCO.

The BLOCCO SDK
These applications were developed using the BLOCCO SDK (an environment for developing BLOCCO and applications that can be linked to it). GClue makes the BLOCCO SDK available for free at the following BLOCCO web site, and is actively seeking out developers for BLOCCO applications.
