Using multiple data sources to enhance its discovery technology for music, the app allows music fans to navigate their way through the tunes and artists they love and to re-connect with old favorites.
Smartphone users can now download Rumpus free from Google Play. The app is hooked into Livewire’s Mediadrome music backend, enabling users to discover music, bookmark artists and download from all the major labels and top independents.
The genius behind Rumpus is the unique way the millions of tracks in the Livewire Mobile database have been connected, so that users can search for artists or tracks and find all the relationships and information that make music discovery so addictive.
The user, working over the top of this digital spider’s web, is steered through an easy and intuitive journey, seeing what other music was produced by a favorite artist, or how a tune or artist influenced others or was influenced by particular music.
It then hooks together the music, videos, biographical information and imagery so the music fan can immerse themselves in the navigation and discovery experience.

As users navigate through the application, they can bookmark artists along the way, providing a ‘breadcrumb trail’ that allows them to come back and learn more at a later date or to build a list of favorites they can share with friends.
With access to Livewire Mobile’s extensive music catalog, users are also able to buy tracks and albums directly from the app and through over-the-air delivery, easily adding newly discovered tunes (or long-lost favorites) to their on-device library.
Rumpus for smartphones is the latest in a string of innovative plays Livewire Mobile has brought to market in 2012 in conjunction with its partners the music labels. More features are on the roadmap for Rumpus and Livewire’s other major music products throughout the rest of the year and into 2013.
