SANTA CLARA, Calif.–()–2Mobo Lab™, pioneers of innovative new technologies, today announced HealthScreen™, a new mobile Android application providing the first parental controls to track, monitor, and limit mobile device usage among adolescents.

HealthScreen was created by parents for parents, who were growing concerned with their children’s increasing reliance on mobile devices, regardless of whether they were used for fun or educational purposes. Equally concerned for their children’s physical health and wellbeing, the brains behind 2Mobo developed HealthScreen to give themselves and other parents the tools to control and prevent the overuse and/or misuse of mobile devices.
“I was inspired by my son to develop HealthScreen, who like most children, loves to play on my Android phone, but there was no application on the market that could help control his potential overuse or misuse of the device,” said Ming Jiang, Founder and CEO of 2Mobo Lab. “HealthScreen is the first mobile application to provide and promote ‘parental controls for physical health’. Other parental control apps monitor content, but HealthScreen is different. It aims to instill proper viewing habits and prevent poor ones by letting the parent determine and dictate how close their child sits to the device, and for how long. HealthScreen even sends a warning and locks-up if the child does not ‘obey’ their own parental guidelines.”
Specifically, HealthScreen enables parents to:
- Set or adjust distance settings manually or with the Auto Distance feature to ensure mobile devices are used at a safe distance (configurable between 6”-18”)
- Lock the mobile device to prevent further use or misuse if child is too close or has used the device for too long (more than 30 minutes)
- Password-protect the application so children cannot adjust the settings
- Enable or disable the application at anytime.
